Hiiiiiii!!
Welcome to The Hair Chair Blog. This is where you will find the latest fashion forcast/trends, views and reviews. We want to be able to post freely what we see and hear to be making an impact on our streets today and tomorrow. We also want clients who have been to the salon to freely upload a pic of them and show us how amazing they look. We would like to see a network of people come to together and share ideas and looks because the way we look matters.

Get ready to embrace 2010-11!
Get ready to embrace 2010-11 with looks from the 50s, 60s & 70s. Anything from retro glam with the roller sets and bright red lips, to the short, sharp, bold looks of Vidal Sassoon, to the free-spirited wild, curly, frizzy hair and minimal make-up.
The coming season is seeing an array of diverse looks to suit everyone’s taste – whether you like it sculptured, wild, vintage or rebellious. We’re seeing a lot of sleek, wet ponytails and short cuts to suit the high collars of the cape jacket and military/aviator jackets that will be flooding our stores.
Look to Russel & Bromely for some fashion inspiration for the military look. Colours for hair are neutral, soft and warm. Our blondes are strawberry and gold, our coppers are strong and our browns are warm but not red. No more chocolate brown, which means no more dark hair. Hair is either worn with lots of height, strong fringes or in a simple braid or wet ponytail with minimal make-up.
For the romantic in us all don’t go past Chloe’s collection for a hint of Anne of Green Gables. The influence of French feminine, we're seeing long skirts (thank goodness) free-flowing floral and soft hue pieces as well as a hint of animal print. Here is where we see the abundance of curls and volume or even the soft fallen-out curl make an appearance. Lots of texture with colour to highlight it, colours that merge instead of stand out. Straight hair should be tried curly, maybe with a GHD, crimper or Kevin Murphy rollers! Colour is cool with a hint of attitude. Blonde with streaks of soft pink or apricot, or for your cool ashen brown, think pastel.
Another look is the boldness of the colours that make a statement and say here I am! Australian designer Josh Goot masters the sci-fi/surfie image that will help you achieve that look. Hair should be edgy with shock value. Look to Vidal Sassoon’s crops and wedges to really appreciate the raw value of a bold statement. Even a hidden undercut or an asymmetrical wedge for more 'wow factor'. Bright acid colours to complement your new cut that look fake. Colours are almost plasticine, the more fake the better - look at Lady Gaga, a trend setter we shouldn’t ignore!
Styling-wise, the 50s roller sets for that Dita Von Teese appeal that is on everyone’s lips. Or even use backcombing to achieve the biggest coif or bouffant. Take out your crimper and combine the look with a braid or twist. L.A. rock, just-out-of-bed hair like Ke$ha the US pop singer! Beyonce with her sculptured, futuristic look and of course Lady Gaga with her ever-changing image. Contrast it!!! Branch out in all directions. Accessorise your hair!
